NOTIFY ME HELP
Use the links below to learn more about the Notify Me feature of The Macomb Daily Classifieds section. You can also contact us via email to submit you questions and/or comments about this new service.
1) What is Notify Me?
- Notify Me is designed to make your classifieds searching easier. After creating an account you can save searches for ads that interest you. When new ads that match your category are entered into the system an e-mail will be sent to inform you of them. The e-mail will contain a summary of the ads and a link to your "Members Home Page" where you can log in and view the new ads.
2) How do I sign up?
- From the Classifieds page use the "Notify Me Home" link and click on the "Create a new account" link.
- Fill out the registration form and click "Submit"
- Log in using the user name and password you selected. If you have logged in correctly you will be brought to the Notify Me Member Home page otherwise you will be asked to enter your e-mail and password again.
- From the member page you can go to the classifieds and browse/search the ads as you normally would.
3) How do I save ads?
- To store a new search after you have logged in go to the classifieds and select a category you want to view. You can browse all the listings of a category, or search by specific criteria.
- When the results of your search are returned, click on the "Notify Me of new ads like this" link. You can also use the link in the right rail that says "Add this to Notify Me". Name the search (or use the default one) and select the format you want your e-mail to arrive in. Then click the "Finish Saving This Search" link. Note: Do NOT use dashes (-) in your search names.
- After your search has been saved you will be taken to your stored searches page. Here you will see a list of all your current Notify Mees. Select "New Search" to return to the classifieds home page or "Back to Member's Home Page" to return to the member page.
4) How do I change/delete my searches?
- From the Member Information page select "View your searches". You can also assess them by selecting "View Notify Me" in the right rail of the classifieds. Here you will see all of your saved searches.
- Use the "View All" option to see every ad in your search or the "View New" option to see only ads that have been uploaded since your last visit.
- The "Edit" option allows you to change how your e-mail is sent. You can also deactivate your search or request updates more or less often.
- The delete option will permanently remove that search from your list.
- Use the "Back to Member's Home Page" link to return to the main page or click "Logout" to exit the system
