“We are short on experience at this point,” Leitzel said. “We graduated six seniors from the 2007 team. The players have already shown a lot of improvement. They are picking up the game and are becoming competitive. This will be somewhat of a rebuilding year for us. We are looking at the future with hopes of seeing good things in the present from this group.”

Clair Carroll is the junior. Sam Monicatti, Hannah DeMil and Emily Clements are the sophomores and Gina Chiesa, Rachel Romer and Danae McKinney the freshmen.

The Bulldogs opened the 2008 season in a home match against Eisenhower on Wednesday, Aug. 20, losing 209-250. Scoring for Romeo were Monicatti, Carroll, DeMil and Clements. Also playing were Romer and Chiesa.

“Coach Clarence Cameron and I are working with the team in all areas of the game,” said Leitzel. “Improvement is what we are looking for and we have seen some more each day we’re on the course.” Heather Hills is the home course for the Bulldogs, with home matches beginning at 3:30 pm.
