The final order of finish with point totals is as follows: Richmond 34; Romeo 27; Fraser 20; East Detroit 17; Brandon 12; (tie) Utica Ford, Warren Mott and Yale 7.

The second doubles team of Derrick Germain (9) and Jimmy Propst (11) and the fourth doubles team of Brian Middleton (11) and Andrew Briggs (10) were gold medal winners for Romeo in their flights.

In singles, senior Jason Germain took bronze. Gordon Rumschlag, a junior, won silver. In three, sophomore Brad Vinckier won bronze. In No. 4, junior Jeff Adkins also finished third earning a bronze medal.

Seniors John Krawczyk and Lance Gaiser won the consolation round in No. 1 doubles. Sophomores David Shankin and Sam Kimpan teamed up for a second place finish in three doubles.

Sophomore Matt Walla also played in No. 4 doubles in the tournament.

Coach Mark Dubiel reports that Derrick Germain, Shankin, Kimpan, Briggs and Walla got their first varsity wins in the tournament.

“This was a good start for the team in competition,” Dubiel said.
